In a world filled with factory farms, pesticides, food additives, and GMOs, healthful eating needs to start at the community level. This vision inspired Maysville, Kentucky’s Pickers & Grinners Open-Air Markets.

“With so many farmers and so many visual and performing artists in Maysville, it’s a gift to bring them all together in an outdoor market for the community to enjoy,” says Lauren Lax, creative director of Pickers & Grinners.

Entering its second year, Pickers & Grinners will host three separately themed events during the summer of 2017 at Limestone Park in Maysville’s historic downtown. Each event will showcase a variety of farm vendors which utilize organic or sustainable farming, regional artists and crafts people, musicians, and activities for children.

Pickers & Grinners Open-Air Markets are open from 9 am till dusk on the following dates:

Saturday, June 17th - Salad Days

Saturday, July 15th - Art in the Park

Saturday, August 19th - Living Waters

Set at the entrance of Maysville’s historic downtown, Limestone Park is within yards of the towering Simon Kenton Bridge, Maysville’s floodwall murals, and Limestone Landing, the city’s entrance to the scenic Ohio River. With historic architecture, a vibrant international community, and lush farmlands, Maysville sets the backdrop for both the Parc Café and Pickers & Grinners. You’re invited to surround yourself with beauty as you participate in this community collaboration.

Vendor spaces are $25 each, but spaces are limited. Or download a vendor application here.

The Parc Café is a small, eclectic café featuring a variety of specialty coffees along with daily sandwich and soup options as well as a daily special that varies with the seasons. You can reach them by phone at 606-564-9704.
